Matty Healy, frontman of the alt-rock band The 1975, is engaged to model Gabbriette Bechtel, his mother said. The singer's mother, Denise Welch, confirmed the news on 'Loose Women,' a U.K. talk show, on Wednesday. 'I've obviously known for for a few weeks that Matty got engaged, but then they went over to see their friends, Charli and George, in New York and I woke up this morning to the fact that they put it on Instagram!' Welch said.
Welch also shared some details about the ring her son had made for Bechtel. 'Black diamond, he had it made for her,' she said. 'I couldn't be more thrilled. She's from Los Angeles. She's absolutely gorgeous.' Bechtel, 26, posted several photos of what appeared to be her engagement ring on her Instagram story on Tuesday, June 11. 'Marrying The 1975 is very brat,' she captioned a post, in an apparent reference to Charli XCX's new album, 'Brat.
