One of those commenters was Pancholy's niece, Flora Hicks, who is a seventh grader at Mountain View Middle School. She went on to criticize the board's decision to cancel the assembly, pointing out that the decision goes against lessons of anti-bullying, inclusion and empathy that students are taught in CV schools.
Hicks said that students often reach out to her uncle after school assemblies to tell him how much his speech helped them.
