After hinting at her feelings for Pete Wicks on I'm A Celebrity, Maura Higgins has confirmed their relationship. The former Love Islander and the TOWIE star have been spotted together in London.
Pete Wicks has finally shared his thoughts after Maura Higgins confirmed that she is loved-up with Strictly star. Welcoming his co-host and close friend Sam Thompson back on to their Staying Relevant podcast for the first time since he returned from presenting I'm A Celeb spin-off, I'm A Celebrity: Unpacked with Joel Dommett, Sam said that his 'loyalty to Pete beats everything'.
Sam said he was not initially planning to talk to Maura Higgins about her relationship with Pete, after she was voted out of the show. Pete said: 'It does until the leaving interview, and you say 'welcome to the family', so I guess that one just sort of slipped out did it?' While Pete accused Sam of letting 'slip', Maura captured the public's attention as she shared her affection towards the former TOWIE star whilst she spoke to her fellow campmates in the Jungle. And, in the days after being voted out, she went into even further detail about her new romance, as she spoke to Alison Hammond on ITV's This Morning. She said: 'You do forget about the cameras, and I do like to keep things private, but let’s be real, I said it. I can’t remember saying it, but I said the words, ‘I miss him’.' She added: 'I do miss him, like I missed all my friends and family. Honestly, he’s been so supportive, honestly. I didn’t know if he was still in Strictly and I’m so proud of him, he’s proud of me, and I can’t wait to see him when I get back.' And, last weekend (Friday December 13), Maura said: 'If you’re missing someone, you’re missing someone and it comes out. And I do, I miss him. Yeah, I really do miss him,' on I'm A Celeb's 'Coming Out'. Shortly after, she could also be heard asking her friend Talia whether Pete was still competing in Strictly. Having returned to the UK after her stay in Australia, she has reunited with her new beau and even shared a picture of her and the TOWIE star as they joined friends at the ME hotel, London
