Before Maxwell’s staggering 40-ball hundred against the Netherlands in Delhi, the explosive and enigmatic all-rounder hadn’t passed 50 in an ODI innings since June 22.
Those questions never got to Maxwell, however, who knows he has a hit-and-miss role in both the ODI and T20 teams, and the fact matches are played here, there and everywhere, without a routine to the schedule, demands a need to roll with the ups and downs. “People talk about my last 20 one-day games, but they‘re spaced out over six years over different continents all over the place and one game at a time every four months, so there’s not really much you can sort of go by.”
