Mayor Reed, Acting Police Chief John Hall, and officials from the ATF held a joint news conference Sunday evening. Acting Police Chief John Hall, recognizing the response time from the department, said MPD officers were on the scene in seven minutes. He also said the shooting happened at an unpermitted party that he was told had over 1,000 people.
