The 35-year-old's last fight was back in August when he headlined the Feile at Falls Park
Padraig McCrory says it will be full steam ahead in 2024 as he continues his recovery from a longstanding hand injury.McCrory came through a war of attrition to outpoint Steed Woodall in West Belfast, his fourth win in what has been a busy 12 months for the Dee Walsh-trained fighter.The 35-year-old has been battling through the pain barrier after rupturing a hand ligament in his IBO World light-heavyweight title win in Frankfurt last October.
"I was sparring and fighting, and my desire to fight took over my healing process. After the Feile I decided I needed a break. "Two of the three fights this year were well-matched, and the last one we took more of a risk at the Feile. My own performance was disappointing, but the fight was perfect for me because I had to deal with a few things which will stand me in good stead."And he feels he is ready to step up preparations for what he hopes will be a "big fight" at the start of 2024.
