By April 8, three locations of McDonald’s new spin-off concept CosMc’s will have opened in North Texas in a 21-day span.Two locations, one in Watauga and one in Arlington, are on the verge of opening. The first Texas location, and only the second in the country,The Watauga CosMc’s will open at 7304 Denton Highway on April 2, 2024, according to a press release from the company. The Arlington location will open at 300 East Abram Street on April 8.just three months ago.
Unlike McDonald’s, where burgers and fries are the focus, CosMc’s is a beverage-centered concept with more than two dozen drinks on the menu and just a handful of food options. It’s the latest brand to enter the growing drive-through drink market alongside concepts likeSome of CosMc’s drinks are coffee based, but much of the menu is made up of teas, lemonades, slushies and other saccharine concoctions infused with caffeine syrups, popping boba and juices.
McDonald’s, which is headquartered in Chicago, has a history of tapping North Texas as a test market. In 2023, the company pilotedin White Settlement. Like CosMc’s, the White Settlement restaurant is designed around drive-through and pick-up orders, with kiosks for ordering, a conveyor belt system for quick grab-and-go service, and no dine-in.
At CosMc's, customers place orders at the drive-through or at kiosks inside a space that functions as a waiting room instead of a dining room., Staff Reporter.
