Last May, Essendon fan favourite Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti stepped away from football after losing his passion for the game. He spent the rest of the year on a journey of self-discovery but was back at the MCG on Sunday, making a stirring comeback
“We worked really hard to get Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti back because the thought of ‘Walla’ making a comeback to AFL footy but not wanting to play for Essendon ... one of the first meetings I had with Conor McKenna, when I was appointed, and Conor wanting to come back from Ireland to play AFL footy at any other club other than Essendon,” said Scott.
He admitted he didn’t expect to be selected for round one, and the rise from thinking he’d never play again to kicking a goal in front of the cheering masses was uplifting. He’s candid about his journey back to football being challenging, and knows there’s still a lot more fitness work to be done before his name is regularly on the team list.

Camilla has ‘played a blinder’: Coronation is her ‘last lap of a long race’Queen consort Camilla has “played a blinder” in the “long game” of winning over the British public after being the country's 'most hated woman', says former ITN Royal editor Tim Ewart. “I think she has done a remarkable job in winning over the British public having started out as … Britain’s most hated woman,” Mr Ewart told Sky News host Caroline Di Russo. “You know, the woman who broke up the marriage of Charles and Diana – but she’s played a long game, she’s kept quiet. “She’s played the Royal role the way that the public like to see it – she hasn’t been controversial and gradually the papers have warmed to her. “Now that is not to say again that there won’t be people, and there will be quite a few, who will feel uncomfortable when she is crowned – she is the Queen consort but is increasingly using the title, Queen. “This will be for her, this coronation – the last lap of a long, long race.”
