Michelle Mann ENTERPRISE—It started as a way for Medical Center Enterprise to give back to the community and resulted in 3,300 jars of peanut butter being delivered to Coffee County Family Services Tuesday afternoon.
“But even though it is easy to buy, easy to donate and a great source of protein, many food banks in the U.S. say peanut butter is one of the least donated items,” he added. “Food insecurity has a significant impact on a person’s overall health and well-being and through our ‘Jars of Love’ Peanut Butter Drive, we are working to help fight hunger.”
This is not the first time MCE has pitched in with snack food for families served by CCFSC, Crowley said. “When Lisa called me and asked about peanut butter collection, I thought it would be a couple of hundred jars,” she said, flashing her trademark smile. “We will be sharing with other nonprofits. There are quite a few food banks in town.”
