Collingwood coach Craig McRae has highlighted two major areas of improvement for his winless Magpies, coming as St Kilda counterpart Ross Lyon questioned whether the premiers can flick the switch in Thursday night’s blockbuster at the MCG.
In declaring his Saints want to write their “own story”, Lyon said on Tuesday that back-to-back best-and-fairest winner Jack Sinclair was almost certain to return from a calf issue which has impacted his training for the past month.dedicated to the memory of club great Danny Frawley History shows that only 20 of 114 teams who were winless after two rounds this century regrouped to make the finals, but McRae said history wasn’t always an accurate guide.
“We are work in progress in what we want to see in front of the ball. I said at the start of the year it’s going to look different week to week. That’s not going to change. We are going to vary it from opposition to opposition. We are generating enough inside 50s, we did against GWS, we just didn’t execute some parts of our game. We are not finished.
