The infant returned to Sydney from south-east Asia on a flight on March 2, before being hospitalised days later, NSW Health says.

Western Sydney residents have been warned to look out for signs of measles after a baby was hospitalised with the disease.

The local health district has issued a list of venues and a flight, asking people to monitor for symptoms if they were at the location on the same date and time. The Children’s Hospital at Westmead emergency department on March 5, 10.30pm-March 6 12.30am, and March 6, 2.30am-2.15pm.Symptoms include fever, sore eyes, runny nose and a cough, followed by a red, blotchy rash spreading from the head to the rest of the body three or four days later. Meales is spread when an infectious person coughs or sneezes.

However, Bateman said those who attended the locations should be on the lookout for symptoms until March 31.
