An outbreak of measles has been declared in England. The cases have been found in Leicester, with the county's director of public health urging parents make sure their children have had their MMR jabs. Rob Howard said: 'We have recently had two confirmed cases of measles in the city; one case is a university student, and the other is a school student. This comes after an outbreak of 7 cases was declared in Cardiff last week, while London has had a further 8 positive tests.
This came after parents in London were advised in September, ahead of the school year, to make sure their kids are up to date with the MMR jab. If their child wasn't, they would have to self-isolate if a classmate tested positive for measles. 60% of cases of the measles infections reported so far this year have been in London.
