For veteran employees working behind-the-scenes at Globe Life Field, the All-Star Game is a cherry on top for higher energy and earnings.
Mills likes getting to know his customers at the stadium and loves to serve regulars. He said the most popular drinks are Ranch Waters and margaritas on the rocks. “Back in the day when they weren’t doing so well, there were days it was mandatory for us not to work,” Goolsbee said. “We don’t have those days anymore.”
Goolsbee said her job involves a lot of walking between bars in the stadium. On Monday, she walked around 16,000 steps. During a World Series game as a concessions manager at the old stadium, she once walked more than 30,000 steps in a day, the most she ever recorded.“It is nice not to people pass out everywhere,” Goolsbee said. “But I feel like the atmosphere is a little bit different being enclosed.”Cris Vázquez is the executive regional chef of Globe Life Field.
