“Nail art has really exploded recently, and I always want to know what the newest thing is.”
While Ania’s day job sees her creating mini masterpieces for her regular clients, competitions bring with them the irresistible opportunity to showcase a creative flair.“The last competition I entered was in 2016 so I was starting to feel like I needed the feeling of adrenaline back.
“I had been wanting to use a male model for a while so, whether he liked it or not, he ended up sitting for seven hours while I painted his nails.“While researching online I saw a statue marking 100 years since women had received the vote in London which made me think about making someone look like a statue."It took hours to get right because I ended up moulding everything by hand with acrylic.
In the culmination of months of hard work, Ania’s double wins were announced at the Olympia London Beauty Show on Monday, October 3.She said: “I was watching the ceremony with my partner, but his live stream was faster than mine.“I was crying, of course, and then we started pouring wine and phoning our friends.
“All I could think about was how long the designs had taken me to create and that I was finally being rewarded for it.” Weeks on from the event, Ania is back working hard at her salon as she awaits her cover feature in Scratch Magazine in November. When asked if we can expect to see more showstopping designs anytime soon, she replied: “Right now, I would just like to focus on training.“It feels unbelievable.”
