Seven constituencies in Northern Ireland now have an MP who has never served in Westminster before
The UK General Election provided some shock results in Northern Ireland , and means we now have 18 new MPs representing us at Westminster.
We have put together a list of the seven brand new MPs who will be representing Northern Ireland at Westminster. He is a former member of the European Parliament and has been his party's only representative in the Assembly. Allister was a supporter of Brexit and has been critical of the Northern Ireland Protocol and Windsor Framework.
She was first elected as a councillor in 2019, before entering the Northern Ireland Assembly in 2022. Before politics, she worked in retail before becoming an advisor to Alliance deputy leader Stephen Farry. Despite running as an independent this election, he was endorsed by the DUP and TUV, neither of whom fielded candidates in North Down.
He was previously co-opted into a council seat and was the last person to serve as mayor of the old Newry and Mourne council. He has worked for Sinn Féin and is the party's deputy general secretary.
