A number of local law enforcement agencies across San Diego County on Tuesday are joining in the National Night Out Against Crime event, an outreach program that allows officers to interact with the community during free neighborhood events.
The events start in the late afternoon or early evening and will include free entertainment, law enforcement demonstrations and food. Events such as the one at the Chula Vista Police Department from 4 to 8 p.m. are promising games, demonstrations, tours of the department, a Home Depot kids workshop and speaking time with officers.
San Diego Police Department officials have planned a community walk and fair at Robert Egger Sr. South Bay Park, a “Toy Story 4” movie night at Officer Jeremy Henwood Park, and an ice cream social at the Kensington Library.
