Francis Ford Coppola has released the teaser trailer for his upcoming epic Megalopolis, which premieres at the Cannes Film Festival.
“Our new film Megaloplis is the best work I’ve ever had the privilege to preside over,” Coppola writes in a statement attached to the trailer. The ambitious footage features a decaying city, falling Roman statues, and chariot races in this reimagined Modern America.
Megalopolis is written and directed by Coppola, who produces alongside Fred Roos, Barry Hirsch, and Michael Bederman. Executive producers include Darren Demetre, Anahid Nazarian, and Barrie Osborne. Coppola, who funded nearly all of the $120 million budget, is still looking for a U.S. distributor.
