Meghan Markle has delighted fans with a sneak peek into her gorgeous California abode. Since stepping down from Royal duties in January 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have settled in Montecito with their two little ones, Prince Archie, five, and three year old Princess Lilibet. The star-studded neighbourhood is also home to A-listers like Oprah Winfrey and Sharon Stone, with Sharon recently praising Harry and Meghan's heartfelt involvement in the community.
'You know, the thing about them that is so great is they didn't come here to live off of our community, they came here to be a part of our community,' she expressed. 'My friend said she was sitting in her car and they bicycled across the street and waved at her while she was sitting at the red light. After the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, Meghan met with some of the victims, including a teenager who tragically lost her home. Meghan, after a chat with a young fan's mum, found out that the teen had misplaced a tour T-shirt from a recent Billie Eilish concert. The Duchess of Sussex reached out to her famous friends to try and get a message to Billie and was thrilled when a package full of merchandise arrived, reports the Mirror. As she unveiled the generous gift, fans got a sneak peek into Meghan and Harry's stunning home, boasting bright white walls and wooden ceiling beams. A large window in the room offers a view of their expansive outdoor area. The room is adorned with white decor, including a shelving unit filled with various vases, and a cosy white window seat to enjoy the view. Their nine-bedroom abode also features a beautiful office space, perfect for their work endeavours. The office follows a neutral colour scheme and houses a large oak desk at its centre, positioned in front of an impressive stone fireplace with iron gates. Meghan's children's book, The Bench, can be seen stacked on the desk alongside her Apple MacBook, which sits atop a pile of white hardbacks. The spacious room is carpeted in a natural tone and features a large fig tree by one of the windows. In her candid chat with The Cut magazine back in 2022, Meghan dished about her instant connection with their now-beloved home. She started off by sharing, 'We were looking in this area,' and admitted, 'And this house kept popping up online in searches.' Initially hesitant to view the property, Meghan recounted how she fell for it when they finally visited: 'We didn't have jobs, so we just were not going to come and see this house. It wasn't possible. It's like when I was younger and you're window shopping - it's like, I don't want to go and look at all the things that I can't afford. That doesn't feel good,' she divulged. Spread across five glorious acres, the Sussexes’ home boasts features from a chicken coop to pool house and also showcases a pair of entwined palm trees in the garden that particularly enamoured the Duke and Duchess.
