Former Suits actress Meghan's reported plans to turn a romantic novel into a Netflix film that mirrors her life is a 'clever' but potentially 'risky' career move says expert
She has kept a relatively low profile this year while her husband has been involved with promotional activity for his memoir and upcoming Netflix documentaries. But now it looks as if the Duchess of Sussex could draw on her experiences of acting and the film industry to return to the bright lights of Hollywood in a move described as clever by a royal expert.
Meghan is familiar with Hollywood and how it works. Between 2011 and 2018, she played paralegal turned associate Rachel Zane in USA Network legal drama Suits. Since the release of their self-titled Netflix documentary series Harry & Meghan in December, and Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare, in January, Meghan has kept an extremely low profile. She did not accompany her husband to the UK in June for the coronation of his father, King Charles III, instead remaining at home in California with their young children, Prince Archie, four, and two-year-old Princess Lilibet.
Tom, who wrote Revenge: Meghan, Harry And The War Between The Windsors, added that he thinks Meghan’s decision to avoid controversy has been a deliberate move.
