Meghan Markle made a surprise return to Instagram , hinting at new projects planned for 2025. Her first post featured a short video of her laughing on a beach near Montecito, running towards the water and drawing '2025' in the sand. Prince Harry is believed to have filmed the video, which quickly gained thousands of followers. The profile picture was also updated from a bunch of flowers to a black-and-white image of Meghan smiling.
The account, @meghan, was created in June 2022 but remained inactive until now. Meghan had previously teased her return in 2023, stating she was 'getting back on Instagram'. This follows her shutting down all social media accounts in January 2018 after her engagement to Prince Harry. At the time, a Kensington Palace source said, 'Ms Markle is grateful to everyone who has followed her social media accounts over the years, however as she has not used them for some time she has taken the decision to close them.' She and Harry also stopped posting on their Sussex Royal Instagram and Twitter accounts in 2020 after stepping back from royal duties.
