MEGHAN MARKLE spoke passionately about her desire to honour her American heritage on her wedding day by having a US fashion brand represented when she tied the knot with Prince Harry.
In the run up to the May 2018 wedding, the former actress called up designers Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia at Oscar de la Renta to ask them if they could “make a dream come true” by dressing her mum Doria. The Duchess of Sussex chatted to the pair of creative directors for 15 minutes, explaining why having the mother-of-the bride outfit designed by a fashion house based in her country of birth would mean so much to her.
