A Melbourne Toy World manager has vowed to get her store back “up and ready again for Christmas” after the outlet was ram raided by a ute and more than $1000 worth of toys stolen in the attack. The brazen thieves reversed a Ford Ranger into the side window of the shop in Fawkner, about 12km north of the Melbourne CBD, on Tuesday at 5.30am. The thieves then loaded the toys into the tray of the ute, leaving the store in disarray ahead of the last week of shopping before Christmas.

Police believe these thieves will put these toys up for sale online. Have you done a stocktake? What should we look out for?” Shirvo asked. “We haven’t done a stocktake yet as you can see because we’re still cleaning up, but they’ve taken remote control cars, Tonka trucks, probably $1000 to $2000 . “They also created a lot more damage for us to have to clean up.” Despite the heartless act, Rouhan said the store intended on opening on Thursday or Friday.
