This week's trip down Vicarage Road memory lane is a tribute in pictures to the late, great Keith Eddy watfordfc

Prior to Watford’s victory over Norwich City on Saturday, Vicarage Road stood as one to applaud in tribute to the man regarded as the club’s finest ever captain, Keith Eddy.

The defender, who died last week at the age of 77, captained Watford to their first ever league title when they won Division Three title in the 1968/69 season. ‘Steady Eddy’, as he was nicknamed, made 274 appearances and scored 31 times during his six years at Vicarage Road, before moving to Sheffield United in 1972.Eddy scored 18 of the 19 penalties he took for Watford and later in his career he took over spot-kick duties from the legendary Pele at New York Cosmos.Following Eddy’s death, we’ve dipped into our archive to share a selection of pictures from his time at Watford, which we hope will bring back memories for some of you.
