Old Knackers FC, known as ‘OKFC’, are a charity team which was founded in 2019, consisting of men who are recovering from mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders and suicide survivors.Running two-hour sessions weekly, and playing two monthly games – a ‘lifeline’ for many of their members – the group are looking for a grass venue to train on Tuesdays, 7pm-9pm until September.
They are looking for a place in Preston or South Ribble, particularly somewhere away from large groups as some of the team are not confident running in public spaces. The club have their own pop-up goals and move around the pitch so they do not damage the grass and give it a chance to regenerate for the Winter season.
