Mentor High School student Jack Sawyer, who was honored at his school’s football game against Euclid High School, died after battling against a rare form of cancer.
was remembered by classmates, teammates, and community members at a candlelight vigil outside Mentor city hall Monday night.
Former Green Bay Packers RB Tony Fisher, a former Euclid High School graduate, gifted Jack a care package from the NFL team. Both student sections during that game wore gold, the official color for childhood cancer awareness, in Jack’s honor.
