Merseyrail users have expressed their frustration at issues on the network at present after the ECHO reported on cramped and dangerous conditions on board a rush-hour train this week. On Wednesday morning, ECHO reporters were caught up in chaotic scenes on the morning Hunts Cross service heading into the city centre. With one peak-time train cancelled, the one that followed saw huge numbers of people packed dangerously onto the train.
If it's not to the point of absolute claustrophobia, they are simply not working.' Simon Barry described the service as 'pathetic and dangerous', adding: 'There’s a serious risk of injury especially to kids on the train.' One user even said the conditions on Merseyrail's northern line had 'driven them back to using a car.' Posting on Thursday evening, Gary lamented more cramped conditions.
