A Merseyside curry house was awarded 'Nepalese Restaurant of the Year' at the 2024 English Curry Awards. Waterloo curry house Da Mount Gurkha won the award for 'Nepalese Restaurant of the Year', an accolade which it described as 'an incredible honour'. Da Mount Gurkha, owned by chef Laxman Bhandari , opened back in 2015 and has firmly established itself as a local institution, with diners travelling from miles around to dine there.
