Wrexham's Paul Mullin an unlikely superstar in US becoming one of football's most famous faces
Wrexham’s now-former promotional rivals Notts County boast Macaulay Langstaff, the striker that broke the league goal record in a single season since the National League’s rebranding with 40 this campaign.But it’s Mullin – who has banged in 46 goals to spearhead Wrexham to a League Two return for the first time in 15 years – that the US are said to have fallen in love with.
McElhenney and Reynolds’ documentary called ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ that followed their takeover in 2020 included Mullin signing for them, as well as behind the scenes of his first season at the club. Mullin’s bosses now call their goalscorer ‘one of the greatest football players in the world’, and according to them, supporters Stateside now believe that too.
