Met Eireann issue immediate thunderstorm warning as 'hazardous' conditions hit

The alert is in place until midnight

Met Eireann have issued a new Status Yellow rain and thunderstorm warning for 12 counties as miserable conditions are set to hit.

And a wet and dreary weekend is expected in most areas with the worst showers in the north, although there will be some brighter sunnier spells in the middle of the country.
