Forecasters have said that more settled conditions are on the way next month.
Weather forecasters have broken their silence amid rumours that there could be warmer temperatures on the way in October.
Above-average temperatures will be "most likely" in the month of October - as well as some "late season warm spells", according to the experts.John Hill, from high street bookies Coral, said: “With another heatwave on its way, we have slashed the odds on next month being the hottest October on record in the UK. In what is going to feel like an Indian summer, we have also cut the odds on temperatures reaching 30C.
"There is an increased chance of some late season warm spells, with above average temperatures most likely.”It reads: "Further into the month, there is a possibility that unsettled, wet weather may become more common, which could result in southern areas being wetter than usual for the time of year.
