It's not looking terribly promising
The BBC and Met Office have shared joint verdicts on reports that a 33C heat blast could hit the UK. .
Meteorologists have predicted that there is a "distinct possibility" that temperatures above 30C could hit this month. But the BBC says: "Unsettled and rather cool weather will continue into the first half of next week before conditions turn drier and warmer, lasting into the following week, reports Birmingham Live.
"Rain or showers are still likely to affect the north and west, and occasionally elsewhere, although southern and eastern areas of the UK should be relatively dry for a while. However, later in August high pressure looks like declining again, allowing periods of rain and showers to become more widespread once more."In its outlook for August 14 to August, the BBC warns it's "turning wetter".
It added: "There are no indications of any strong heat." Showers are possible throughout the eighth month of the year - after a washout July. But forecasters at the BBC are also suggesting September could turn drier in the UK as better weather finally wins out. "There are some hints that early September might become a bit drier, but that's very speculative at the moment. Temperatures are most likely to remain near or slightly above the seasonal average," it said.
"A changeable pattern is most likely through the latter part of August and into early September. This is likely to bring a mixture of some dry, settled weather but also some spells of wetter, more unsettled conditions. There is a risk of some heavy rain or thunderstorms at times," the Met Office concurs.
