The UK will see a 'slice of summer we have been missing over the last couple of months'
Autumn has just begun, but UK residents can expect summer conditions next week; a heatwave is coming.
Forecasters say that high pressure over the nation coupled with some low pressure in the Atlantic means that hot air from Europe is being drawn up from Monday, September 4. Wednesday, September 6, and Thursday, September 7, will see sustained periods of hot weather and heatwave conditions.In a new statement the Met Office now said: "Weds/Thurs looking like the peak in temperatures with 32C possible on either of the days.
"The high pressure that is with us is going to slowly drift across to the east and into the north sea. Meanwhile while low pressure is sticking out into the Atlantic that allows us to tap into a southerly flow of air and we’ll start to see those really hot conditions moving in from continental Europe."
