The weather forecasters say snow will fall on high ground next week
The Met Office has given its verdict on the three day polar blast which has been forecast for Yorkshire over the weekend and into next week.
Snow is expected to fall near Sheffield on Saturday, before arriving in North and West Yorkshire on Monday, covering the Yorkshire Dales and Kirklees Region. On Tuesday, March 26, snow has been predicted near Middlesbrough. But the Met Office is less certain about the possibility of a polar blast any time soon. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, the weather forecasters put the record straight, suggesting that any snowfall will be confined to high ground.
They continued: “It will turn colder across the UK this weekend, with most places seeing temperatures a few degrees lower than average for late March. For many places, this will be accompanied by rain showers, with any snow restricted to high ground in the north of the UK.” Friday March 22 to Sunday March 24 Turning colder with sunny spells and scattered showers on Friday and Saturday, these will be locally heavy and possibly turning wintry on hills. Less frequent showers Sunday. Overnight frosts returning.
