Parts of England and Wales are set to be hit by turbulent weather conditions this weekend, with the Met Office even issuing a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms over a seven-hour period on Saturday ruth_comerford reports
Parts of the country are predicted to be hotter than Marbella, Ibiza and Tenerife over the weekend as a “plume of warm air” moves in from the south.
The forecaster added that spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures. “Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and possibly even cancellations to rail services,” the Met Office said. “The odd place affected by multiple showers could see more than this, perhaps in excess of 60mm. As well as rain, hail, strong gusts of wind, and lightning will be additional hazards.
