The disappointing summer weather is set to continue
Forecasters have put a yellow weather warning in place from 4am on Sunday, July 7 to 10am the same day. The warning covers most of Merseyside, but doesn't extend as far as Southport and just misses parts of south Wirral.
Heavy showers are expected, with 30 to 40mm of rain forecast in places. The warning extends out in to Liverpool Bay and across parts of Greater Manchester and the North Wales coast.The weather warning has been put in place as slow-moving heavy showers may cause some travel disruption on Sunday morning. Temperatures will reach highs of 16C on Sunday.
According to the Met Office, people can expect possible flooding of homes and businesses, spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer, and bus and train services to probably affected, with journey times taking longer.
