Met Office map shows huge 'wall of rain' to sweep country and end heatwave next week
A huge wall of rain will sweep in and hit the UK on Monday , bringing the current heatwave to an end. Brits have been basking in the hot temperatures and sunshine for weeks, despite some thunderstorms and rainy spells.
Parts of Northern Ireland, Scotland, North West England and the Midlands are at risk of thunderstorms this afternoon, with the warning in place from 1pm until 9pm. It could result in localised flooding, with up to 40mm of rainfall in just two hours, forecasters have said.But temperatures are expected to drop tomorrow, moving closer to the average for this time of the year. There will be a 'much fresher feel', the Met Office has said.
