The mercury will tomorrow rocket to 14C - a massive change of nearly 17C in just two days - as the UK enjoys a 'brief mild spell' at the start of meteorological winter

Temperatures are set to soar to 14C tomorrow, in a significant upswing of nearly 17C within just two days, as Britain enjoys a "brief mild spell" at the start of meteorological winter. Forecasters indicate that with the dawn of Sunday and the start of December, the conditions will be reminiscent of April rather than the onset of winter.

He further noted: "Over Saturday and Sunday, temperatures are more typical of April maximum temperatures, but then by Monday and Tuesday, most parts of the UK will see more typical if not below average temperatures once again. It's just a brief mild spell." The imminent chill is expected to usher in "disruptive weather" early next week. Particularly across Northeast England where significant rainfall is forecast for Monday.
