The Met Office says warmer weather is on the way next week
The Met Office says there are signals that sunnier weather conditions are on the way next week - particularly in central and eastern areas of the country. However, despite reports that a heatwave is on the horizon, this is unlikely to be the case in the north west.
A Met Office spokesperson told the Manchester Evening News: "Heat is not really going to be a feature for the north west of England. The way warm pressures are building it looks like there will be fronts covering the western part of the UK, and the warm conditions will be in the east. "There may be temperatures of high 20s in parts of eastern UK, but we would not see those temperatures in the north west."
