Bring on the sun
Another hot and sunny week is on the way for Lancashire with the 'mini heatwave' of dry and warm weather is set to continue.
After a warm and dry week followed fine weather on the bank holiday, the sunny start will continue through early June, according to the Met Office. The forecaster is expecting highs of 20C this week - before the weekend gets even hotter. Those who suffer with hay fever may have a challenging week to contend with though as the Met Office says pollen counts will be high all week. It also says the UV count will be high, making it all the more important that people properly protect themselves from the sun's effects.Sunny conditions are expected throughout today and tomorrow with a greater mixture of clouds and sunny weather through the rest of the week.
And things will get hotter still on the weekend with the Met Office predicting maximum temperatures of 24C on Sunday. Its forecast for tomorrow states: "Cloud gradually clearing through the morning to leave an increasing amount of strong sunshine throughout the rest of the day. Feeling warm. Maximum temperature 22 °C.
For Tuesday-Friday, it states: "A lot of strong sunshine each day once early cloud clears. Feeling warm with temperatures climbing a touch, albeit with a slightly strengthening breeze."
