Pollen levels are expected to be ‘very high’ across Yorkshire for the rest of the week
The Met Office has issued a warning for ‘very high’ pollen levels across Yorkshire for the remainder of the week.
The county already experienced ‘moderate’ pollen levels yesterday, but the dramatic increase is set to cause symptoms to worsen for hay fever sufferers. Pollen maps from the Met Office show that levels will be ‘very high’ across Yorkshire, and the rest of the UK, on Wednesday and throughout the remainder of the week.A “very high” pollen count is expected across the county, up to and including Saturday, June 23.
The Met Office is predicting that grass pollen will be the main culprit. They said: “Grass pollen will rise in warm, dry weather. Nettle, dock and plantain too. Spores: A little Alternaria and medium Cladosporium when warm; Leptosphaeria after rain.”Accompanying the increase in pollen levels will be an increase in temperatures, with warmer weather and sunny spells expected across much of Yorkshire throughout the remainder of the week.
