It was also alleged the two officers lied under oath at an inquest into Mr Clarke's death in October 2020. Wendy Clarke and Tellecia Strachen, the mother and sister of Mr Clarke, sat in the public gallery as the hearing was brought to a close. Having assessed the situation as a "serious mental health episode", officers decided to put Mr Clarke into handcuffs and leg restraints.
