A Metropolitan Police detective who appeared in a BBC documentary about a harrowing rape investigation is facing a misconduct hearing over alleged domestic abuse against seven former partners.

A notice published by the force said: 'Former DC David Fall will answer allegations that his conduct amounted to breaches of the Standards of Professional Behaviour, in respect of discreditable conduct. DC David Fall has been accused of abusing or harassing the women over a six-year period while he was a serving officer

Fall was working in the Met's specialist crime unit, which investigates organised crime and murders, when he quit. Fall, who appeared in 2017 in a BBC One documentary The Met: Policing London, is accused of abusing his former partners
