Taser police put spit hood on 91-year-old woman
Six officers are being investigated over an incident where an elderly woman was pointed at with a Taser and had a mesh hood placed over her headThe woman, 91, was also handcuffed by officersPublishedA 91-year-old woman had a Taser pointed at her and a mesh spit hood put over her head by police after a dispute with her carer.
One officer has been suspended while five others have been placed on restricted duties and will have no contact with the public, the IOPC said. Det Ch Supt Seb Adjei-Addoh said: "It is clear that this will have been a distressing experience for the lady involved and that the circumstances raise a number of questions that need to be answered.
