The seven-day positivity rate in Metro Manila rose from 19.7 percent on May 2 to 24.2 percent on May 9, OCTA Research Fellow Dr. Guido David said on Wednesday night, May 10.
He noted that the rate will most likely exceed 25 percent, revising his previous projection that it would not reach 25 percent before the expected peak.“Exceeding 25 percent is almost a given at this time. We still expect the peak to happen within one to two weeks,” he pointed out.Positivity rate refers to the number of individuals who yielded positive results from among those who have been tested for Covid-19.
On May 10, the Department of Health reported 1,476 new Covid-19 cases across the country, of which 621 cases were recorded in Metro Manila.He said the country’s current positivity rate is 22.4 percent, up from 20.9 percent during the previous day.
