There is a new lane closure in place from today
A huge project of improvement works on a Metrolink line which has been closed for weeks have passed a major hurdle this weekend. Part of the Eccles line has been shut for four weeks since July 15.
Transport for Greater Manchester says the first phase of the project is now complete. Over the past four weeks, Eccles New Road has been closed to traffic heading westbound, between Weaste Lane and Stott Lane.But with the second phase of works beginning today, that lane is back open. Eccles New Road is now closed heading eastbound towards Manchester instead, between Stott Lane and James Corbett Road.
