No trams will run across Greater Manchester on Sunday morning

Metrolink commuters have been issued a warning over a full closure of the entire Greater Manchester tram network on Sunday morning.Transport for Greater Manchester urged commuters to be aware of the 'full network closure', saying no services would run for the two-hour period.Bosses said a programme of 'essential improvement works' would continue across the Metrolink network.

A spokesman said: "On Sunday there will be a full closure of the tram network from the start of service until 9am. No trams will operate on any of the lines, and no replacement bus service will be in operation. "Following the closure, it will take some time for services to get back to normal - as trams need to travel to all corners of the network - with a full timetable operating from approximately 10.30am.There will be no trams operating between Bury and Crumpsall, for the duration of Sunday, but a replacement bus service will operate every 15 minutes.

There are also longer works taking place between Rochdale Railway Station and Rochdale Town Centre. A replacement bus service will be in place to serve the affected stops.
