Mexico 's new government has announced that its energy policies include boosting state-owned national power company CFE while also setting rules for private electricity producers, including those generating clean energy. Speaking at a press conference alongside President Claudia Sheinbaum , energy Minister Luz Elena Gonzalez has revealed that private power producers will be able to generate renewable electricity of up to 9.55 gigawatts by 2030, when the president’s term comes to an end.
