Mhairi Black has been told off by the deputy speaker for swearing in the House of Commons during a debate.
The SNP Westminster deputy leader was reprimanded after saying that members of the UK Government "seemed to have been pished half the time at parties" during lockdown.The Paisley and Renfrewshire South MP was referring to several parties held in Downing Street by UK Government and Conservative Party staff while the rest of the country was in lockdown.
The gatherings were investigated by the Metropolitan Police and 126 people were fined. Among those fined were former Prime Minister Boris Johnson and current PM Rishi Sunak. Black said during the debate on Tuesday afternoon: "This is a dangerous government making bad decisions, on top of a global pandemic.
"But mind you, we shouldn't be surprised, given the fact they seem to have been pished half the time at parties in No10."She continued: "So as I said, there is an element of truth that the war in Ukraine for instance has also..."Winterton said: "Can I just say to the honourable lady: she really must not use language like that.
