Conor McGregor hospitalised Miami Heat mascot with two punches
On Friday, Denver Nuggets beat the Heat 108-95 in Miami to take a 3-1 series lead ahead of Game 5 where they can win their first NBA title at home.However, the latest NBA game was marred by a cameo from UFC legend Conor McGregor who ended up putting the Heat mascot, Burnie, in hospital when their choreographed stunt went wrong.with his signature left hand before following up with another punch when Burnie hit the floor in a moment that has since gone viral.
Heat staff pulled the mascot off by the feet, with McGregor running in and spraying him with the pain relief spray he was promoting., one or both of McGregor’s punches actually hurt Burnie and the man inside the costume ended up in hospital.After receiving pain medication, he was sent home and is well enough to return for Game 6 if his side manages to stay in the series by winning on Monday night.
“That’s the Miami Heat toughness that we’re talking about,” Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said with a laugh on Sunday. “He should have been allowed to take the first swing. We won’t reveal who that is, but yeah, he can take a punch and get back up. He’s not going to miss any time.”for allowing a trained fighter to punch him.
