Michael McIntyre delivered another enjoyable performance at the M&S Bank Arena as the entertainer brought his skilful brand of chaos to the Liverpool waterfront
Michael McIntyre broke the promise he had made to himself within 90 seconds of bounding onto the Liverpool stage.
McIntyre is as slick as they come on the circuit and his introduction created an impression of chaos that was as effective as it was, in part, heartwarming. Before he leaped through the lit-up letters on stage the big screens played a short run of clips of his career and it was both nostalgic and illuminating. All of a sudden I realised just how long he has been part of our lives.
This was an accomplished performance from one of the country’s biggest comedians. His energy is limitless and it carries the audience along with him. Sometimes it is less his humour and more his body language that captivates as he shimmies and shakes and bounces across stage. You don’t know whether to focus more on looking or listening. He is as much a performer as a comedian.
